Ok, so I am not a blog person. I love to write, particularly the feeling of a pen gliding across a fresh page. When it comes to writing, drawing, reading or any other pursuit for me it is much more the physical experience rather than the finished project. So why am I blogging on a laptop that I have been terrible to, that has too many keys that stick and doesn't provide a creative experience for me? Great question and when I know why I have felt driven to reinvent this blog which started as a class assignment years ago I'll let you know.
But for now I am just going to go with it. I am getting married in June and never in my wildest dreams did I understand everything that "must" be done to have a proper wedding. I really only want a beautiful day with those that I love in a place that is comfortable so that I can share my marriage to a wonderful man. I did not know that this endeavor came with enormous prerequisites. Who knew that one day I would be spending my afternoon with my fiance in a craft store comparing shades of blue, textures and weights of paper and just what will people think of our hand made save-the-dates.
Ryan and I have lived together for our entire relationship minus a month or two here and there due to college attendance and we have never had the fight over the toothpaste, or should the lid be up or down but we find ourselves now pouring over the slightest thing including a long and ridiculous argument about font size. If anyone is recently engaged and reading this I can tell you there will be a point when you say to your fiance in all seriousness "can we please just go to city hall and be done with the whole thing." While in my best friends wedding I had heard her say to me, "run away, elope, do anything but this!!" I had the arrogance to think it would be different for me. Planning will be fun, everyone will get along and want to go out of their way to help, and they will all agree. I am blessed with offerings of help but I would still elope if we didn't already have too much money tied up in deposits. So ok thats my first blog entry we will see if there will be another.
